What does Inner Motion Movement offer?

About the sessions:

Contemporary Dance workshops are led by IMM founder, Charlie.

 

In workshops, we explore our imagination, bodies and tension through physical/mental freedom that movement brings. Classes will involve elements of improvisation and will charge the movers up to learn sequences which pull on contemporary techniques, merging floorwork with flow and accented moments.

 

Who are these sessions for?

Everyone! All movers have full permission to adapt movement to suit their bodies on that day. Bring water and layers and expect to have fun, sweat and celebrate yourself as a mover! 

 

Dress comfortably in warm, long layers.

Yoga | Pilates

About the sessions:

Yoga and Pilates workshops are led by IMM founder, Charlie. 

 

In all Yoga and Pilates offerings with Charlie, we connect holistic movement with imagery to find softness and strength. Classes are often themed and can be arranged privately for groups or on a 1:1 basis.

Within sessions, principles of Yoga and Pilates are consciously blended to provide participants with the benefits of integrated movement approaches.

 

Who are these sessions for?

Everyone! All participants are welcome to adapt movement to suit their needs. 

 

Dress comfortably in warm, long layers. Please note that some venues these sessions are held at do not provide mats and equipment (eg. yoga blocks), so do check on the class descriptions whether you will need to bring your kit along with you.

About the sessions:

Somatic Improvisation workshops are led by founder, Charlie. With 10 years of teaching experience and an expert in improvisation, Charlie will verbally guide you in exploring your body in motion through dance and movement improvisation.

 

The session will involve tasks exclusive to Inner Motion Movement delivery - these workshops are not to be missed.

​

Somatic Improvisation workshops will be physical, but you are always invited to take it at your own pace and find your own sense of fluidity. 

 

Who are these sessions for?

Everyone! They are perfect for those interested in experimenting with the moving body and wanting to explore physicality, including dancers, actors and directors. As we will not work with sequences, routine or set movement, you do not need to worry about whether "you can dance" or not! No memory is required and you absolutely don't need any dance experience! The workshops involve elements of light contact at times.

 

Dress comfortably in warm, long layers.
